A Sense of Place – the Gardens

Preserving amidst change is probably most dynamic in the amazing gardens at Mottisfont and deeply understood by those that sense the underlying reality most directly, the gardeners. Talking to the head gardener the other week, he mentioned a number of visitors asking if he was going to tidy up the fallen petals of the roses. His observation to us was that to him there was a completeness to the shedding roses – the fallen petals seeming to reflect the remaining blossoms.
